I Quit My Life- and Bought a Tiny House
My name is Alaska, but some call me The Tiny House Concierge.
How did I come to have an official tiny house title? Because I was a disgruntled millennial who once did the unthinkable:
In 2019, I quit my life.
✅ I ended my marriage.
✅ I quit my job.
✅ I walked away from my new real estate business.
✅ I put my stuff in storage.
✅ I moved (back to) Alaska. (Yes, also my real name.)
✅And started over in a tiny house.
That tiny house changed my life completely.
My life prior to becoming a tiny home dweller had me working forty hours per week, indoors, behind a desk, and drowning in corporate B.S. And all this was in exchange for minimal vacation time, crappy health insurance, and no hope of retirement.
Friends, it took 56% of my take-home pay just to afford my HALF OF THE RENT.
And so, hopefully, you can understand why I snapped.
Fortunately, my meltdown led me to a tiny house lifestyle, and the tiny house lifestyle has completely reinstated my hope for the future.
Not only will it all be OK, but life is on track to be better than ever. So far my tiny house has:
Cut my waste by an estimated 75%
Encouraged me to define a life based on what I value most.
Connected me to my community and local economy. (Because nothing fills up a tiny house trash faster than Amazon packaging!)
Gave me locational flexibility.
Allowed me a path to homeownership as a single human with a taste for expensive cities.
Absolutely skyrocketed my sense of wellbeing.
I started The Tiny House Concierge to be the tiny house help desk I wish I’d had. My experience living this lifestyle, plus my background in real estate made me uniquely qualified to help create systems for this (amazing!) new type of housing.
So if you want to go tiny, build a tiny home community, start a tiny house building company, or sell a tiny home but you don’t know where to start, you can start here.
My name is Alaska; how may I be of service?
